Birch-leaved Spirea (Spiraea betulifolia)
2007 June 29
I found this plant growing along the roadside. One thing for certain, it is VERY popular with the bug population. I found 6 different bugs salivating over this little grouping of plants. My reference books showed the flower as white with the possibility of pinkish or lavender tinged flowers. Medicinally, it was used by some peoples for stomach ailments and diarrhea.
