 We found this plant in a very open, pasture like setting. A very good description for the medicinal uses of this plant may be found at this site. The common name of "gumweed" is due to a sticky latex or gum that this plant exudes.

this weed if pulling during full blooms, with many plants has a intoxication effect on humans and if horses ingest it the large muscle become stiff and they behave in a drunken fashion
